security at their headquarters because the spblgt used to be one of their own. christopher dorner is wanted in multiple shootings spanning six days. the 33-year-old said he's declaring war with the lapd after losing his job. according to his late and rambling manifesto, he wants to revenge until his name is clear. he writes the violence of action will be high. i will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare. dorner is accused of killing a couple and shooting at two police officers killing one of them. his vehicle was found in the big bear area, so far no sign of the man police describe as armed and dangerous. nbc's stephanie stanton has more from los angeles. >> reporter: this burned out truck belonging to suspect christopher dorner was found in the mountains two miles east of los angeles. but dorner himself was nowhere to be found. >> dorner is considered armed and extremely dangerous. >> reporter: dorner posted aing lengthy manifesto on facebook detailing threats against police officers he intended to kill. dorner claims he was treated unfairly when fired from the l.a. police departm

. thank you so much. that was fantastic what you did for us. christopher stevens was obviously an extraordinary human being and contributor. every year at stanford we have a group of what we call national security fellows come. they were roughly army, navy, air force, state department. a couple weeks ago we had a meeting and the first person i called on was an army colonel. i said where were you last? he said in libya. i said did you know christopher stevens? he said everybody knew christopher stevens. he was our leader, fluent in arabic, constructive, positive, doing something, he was our leader. this spontaneous practically eruption from him. he was a foreign service officer. anybody who has served with a foreign service as i did as the secretary of state knows, what a very special group of people this is. they are very able people. dedicated. they work hard for our country. chris was extraordinary and stood out. i thought what image can i think of that might express our way of thinking about him. i thought of the great seal of our republic. i don't know how many of you have

that dorner remains one step ahead of law enforcement and is even using decoys like his burned-out car that some suspect he may have detonated from a remote location to throw off police. in a 12,000-word online manifesto, he proclaimed the following, i will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to los angeles police officers on or off duty. dorner has already killed three people and fears of more targeted killings are growing as he continues to evade police. according to his manifesto, his firing from the los angeles police department back in 2008 is what has triggered this killing spree. joining me now is someone named in that manifesto, former lapd detective mark fuhrman. mark, one of the things as we watch this now, maybe this was detonated. this guy is clearly five steps ahead in terms what for him is a game and the killing of this the people. how concerning is that for you? >> i think you're right. the first thing i thought when we heard about that vehicle, an incendiary device. they probably felt that at the on set, but you have to go through the motions because you have
